I'm a writer and editor based in Boston, MA.

I hold a BA in English and Creative Writing from Wheaton College and an MFA in Fiction from the University of Massachusetts Boston. I've worked as a communications professional for the last seven years.

I occasionally organize community-based storytelling events. Past events include Boston's first Human Library at BPL Field's Corner (2015) and Edible Stories at Dot2Dot Cafe (2013).

Prose

Early spring on the Cape was bright, wet, and gray, like a stone washed and tumbled from the sea. The damp chill lingering through March kept the young family dressed in the Vermont long-underwear and wool socks they'd hoped to shed upon moving.

During lifeguard training, Shelley and her nine classmates were shown videos of hot beach blanket crowds, sun glare and splashing hands; runaway umbrellas and riptides. Now Shelley was a single red dot on a cool foggy shore where they had yet to drop off her lifeguard chair.
